| In this workshop, participants will begin by examining their own perceptions on problems. Through looking at their definitions of problem situations, participants should develop a better understanding of how to identify all the components of a problem.
There is no single or simple step-by-step process guaranteeing us we will solve every problem we encounter. We are faced, instead, with the requirement to configure or adapt our problem solving processes to fit the problem at hand. In these workshops, participants will engage in a range of problem solving and decision making techniques, designed to equip them with the skills to assess a variety of problem situations and to develop possible solutions. They will be encouraged to think creatively in their approaches to problem solving and decision making to uncover all possible alternatives.
Solving problems requires intervention as well as investigation. To actually solve a problem is to implement the solution that has been found and demonstrate that it works. Participants in this training will also discuss methods for implementation of their solutions to see the problem solving process to its final stage. |
